Council enjoys a sister city relationship with Leshan in China and friendship associations with Otsuki, Kasukabe and Tome in Japan and Honiara in Solomon Islands.

Objectives of the Sister City / Friendship Associations:

1. To further develop existing relationships and to establish new relationships.
2. To establish policies and protocols that guide Council and the community in these relationships.
3. To foster the involvement of the community at all levels.
4. Develop marketing strategies to promote the current relationships and benefits to the wider community.
